About the Role
To be employed in this role you must pass an enhanced safeguarding check. Our stores operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, with a wide variety of shift patterns – if you're looking for flexible working around your lifestyle, we'll work with you on your shifts, but weekend working is a requirement of the role and we may need to be flexible with your pattern. Our in‑store Pharmacies are hugely popular with customers, who expect the same warmth and friendliness they get everywhere else in the store, confidence and relaxed discussion of personal health issues, quick resolution of problems, and guidance to the right products. You will also be responsible for assembling and processing prescriptions accurately, driving awareness of extra services we offer in Pharmacy (e.g., Prescription Collection Service, Medicines Use Reviews). You will support the Pharmacist with delivery and record‑keeping of patient services (blood pressure checks, stop smoking schemes, etc.). You will develop an understanding of the strict Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to them, while collecting customers’ prescriptions from their doctors’ surgeries and bringing them to the store ready for collection. We will help you become a star Pharmacy colleague – completing an accredited course to become a qualified Medicine Counter Assistant within 6 months, then training as a Dispensing Assistant to complete your pharmacy training. You will be naturally friendly, highly organised, eager to work with your team to deliver results. You possess good computer skills, attention to detail, and communicate well with customers. You love problem solving, are passionate about helping people, and care about delivering a great healthcare experience, helping customers find what they need and having a chat along the way.
