Autism Support Worker - Sherborne
Autism Unlimited run a dedicated Adult Services programme in which we are currently looking to recruit for one of our care packages in the West.
Sam is early 20s, gender fluid and based in Sherborne. They enjoy going outside and being able to develop and enhance their social skills. They love animals and have a pet cat, have a passion for music and they love a game of bowling. Sam is also the type who is happy to have lazy days inside playing with tech gadgets.
We are recruiting for males and females who are spontaneous, fun, resilient, adaptable and proactive to join our community team in Sherborne supporting Sam.
The role would suit someone who is confident with cooking, able to support with finances and affordability and not afraid of physical contact as Sam likes to give hugs and head rubs.
We have Full Time and Part Time vacancies available and driving is not essential but preferred.
A support workers day would include:
1. Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community
2. Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication
3. Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour
4. Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication
