German‑Speaking Copywriter – Global Retail Brand (Contract)
Location: North of London (Hybrid, 2 days in the office, 3 days WFH)
Start: ASAP
Contract: Outside IR35
Help shape culturally relevant content for a fast‑moving, digital‑first global retail brand.
I am recruiting a German‑speaking Copywriter to support a large international retailer with the creation, translation and transcreation of high‑quality digital content across web, email and customer touchpoints. This role sits within a collaborative ecommerce creative team and plays a key role in ensuring content resonates with German and Austrian audiences while remaining true to brand tone and commercial goals.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced German copywriter who puts writing quality first, and who is comfortable working in a commercial, high‑volume digital environment.
What you will be doing
* Writing, translating and transcreating German copy across website, email and UX content
* Creating engaging, on‑brand copy that speaks clearly to German‑speaking customers
* Working closely with ecommerce, content and CRM teams to ensure clarity, consistency and cultural relevance
* Managing multiple workstreams while maintaining a high standard of writing
What you will bring
* Native or near‑native German writing ability, with strong written English
* Proven experience writing digital copy, ideally for ecommerce, retail or consumer brands
* A genuine flair for tone of voice, storytelling and clear customer communication
* SEO experience is beneficial, but not essential. Strong writers who are open to developing further in this area are encouraged to apply
Location & working pattern
* Office based north of London, with straightforward rail access from Euston
* Hybrid working model in place
