Our client, based in the West Manchester/Trafford Park area, are a precision engineering company who have built a well-respected reputation, with over 75+ years of industry experience.
They are now looking to appoint a TIG Welder on a permanent basis. The role will pay will be between £17-18/hr dependent on experience.
Hours of work are *7am - 3.30pm Monday to Thursday with 1pm finish on a Friday. *There is also some flexibility on start times up until 8am if required.
Or though core duties are TIG Welding, you will also be required to carry out other duties like brazing, drilling, basic assembly when required.
The main objectives and responsibilities for this TIG Welding role are:
*TIG welding exotic material (Incoloy, Inconel)
*Ensure production targets are met
*Using inspection equipment to monitor quality of components produced
*Work within the objectives of the companies Lean Manufacturing Processes
*Complete paperwork as per the company quality system
*Ensure all products manufactured and assembled meet quality standards
*Use equipment to clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld pieces; setting-up and measuring assemblies; selecting appropriate method.
*Flexible working within other Manufacturing areas to meet workload demands
In order to be successful as the TIG Welder, you must have / be:
*Coded OR Time Served & have experience to ASME IX or BS 15614 standards
*Minimum 5 years working as a TIG welder
*Time served or relevant experience in TIG welding
*Mechanical engineering problem solving
*Engineering units along with thread sizes, flanges, pipe fittings etc. is an advantage
*Must be used to working with exotic material in particular 316SS
*Must be flexible to move to different areas and do things other than welding when needed.
