Requirement for an Electrical Design Engineer to deliver high value protection and control schemes for electricity distribution projects, based in Colchester with good rates of pay.
Proficient In
* Design of control and protection schemes for HV and EHV substations production of main connections and protection drawings
* Calculation of protection settings
* Cable calculations up to 132 kV
* Substation design experience at 11 kV, 33 kV or 66 kV or 132 kV
* Design experience of up to 400 kV would be ideal but not a prerequisite
* Understanding the electrical aspects of power supplies, substations or
* Cabling/overhead line projects from LV up to and including 132 kV
* Power systems studies, such as load flow and short circuit studies
Ideally aware of
* Electricity Network Regulations / National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) requirements
* DNO and IDNO design standards and approval processes
* ENA Engineering Recommendations
* Grid code for protection settings
* Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) requirements in the electricity industry
* Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
* General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Information Security requirements
