HR Advisor – Maternity Cover (Short‑Term Contract)

Minimum CIPD Level 3 | Experienced HR Professional Required
We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join our team on a short‑term contract to cover maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident HR professional who can quickly step into a fast‑paced role and provide high‑quality HR support across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day‑to‑day HR advice and guidance to managers and employees
Support all employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, and performance processes
Manage onboarding, inductions, and offboarding activities
Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with policies and legislation
Assist with recruitment, selection, and coordination of interviews
Support HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Provide timely and effective HR administration across the employee lifecycle
Requirements
CIPD Level 3 (minimum) – Level 5 desirable
Proven experience in an HR Advisor role or similar
Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently, handle sensitive issues with discretion, and manage a varied workload
Confident using HR systems and Microsoft Office tools
Contract Details
Contract Type: Fixed‑term (Maternity Cover)
Start Date: TBC
Hours: Full‑time (part‑time considered depending on experience)
Location: Pontefract
Salary: £30,000 to £35,000
