As a Registered Manager our expectation is that your home will be rated as at least “Good” by Ofsted. This role is managing a specialist EBD service in Oldham.


Responsibilities

* Develop Comprehensive Care Plans: ensure each young person has a tailored plan addressing care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
* Develop a great team: collaborate with recruitment to build a capable team; complete induction and personal development plans; maintain familiar faces for the young people.
* Foster Consultation: create systems to consult young people about the care they receive.
* Allocate Key Workers: assign a Key Worker to each young person to implement their care plan.
* Maintain High Standards: establish and monitor high-quality care standards in line with quality standards and the Home’s Statement of Purpose.
* Handle Complaints and Concerns: address complaints or child protection concerns promptly and effectively.
* Collaborate with Stakeholders: work with parents, carers, and other professionals to promote welfare.
* Participate in Meetings: attend and contribute to care planning and review meetings as appropriate.
* Embrace a safe culture: ensure the children in your service are cared for to the highest standard.
* Effective Commercial Management: manage the home in line with budget expectations.


Essential Requirements And Experience

* Passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people in care.
* Relevant Experience: at least 2 years in residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
* Qualifications: Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is essential. Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred at point of application; if not, you must be enrolled on Level 5 within 6 months of starting in post.
* Knowledge: Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
* Skills: Planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.
* Communication: Confident in effective spoken and written communication.
* Understanding Trauma: Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
* Driving License: Full UK required.
