Your new role As a seasoned charity leader, you will be well versed in managing challenging scenarios to improve the performance and revenue of the charity. This is a part-time role (2 days per week) focused on guiding the organisation through its next phase of development: strengthening financial sustainability, embedding safeguarding and compliance, and building a high-performing, values-driven culture. You will lead the development and delivery of a clear organisational strategy aligned to the mission and community needs, translating strategy into measurable objectives, KPIs, and delivery plans across all functions, and balance community impact with commercial sustainability, ensuring debt reduction and long-term viability. You will report to the Trustees and take executive accountability for budgets, financial planning, cashflow, and reporting. The aim is to d rive cost reduction, operational efficiencies, and income generation. What you'll need to succeed You will have demonstrable ability to provide clear leadership to a young and diverse team, instilling work ethic, compliance, and pride in delivery. Alongside this, your role will include coaching and mentoring senior staff, empowering them to manage operations effectively. Your proven ability to embed a values-driven culture focused on safety, customer experience, and impact really matters in this role. Confident in being the public face of an organisation, you will have the ability to build partnerships with local authorities, health partners, funders, schools, and community organisations.Marketing experience and communications capability will ensure you can grow participation and income to deliver success. With a minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role (ideally in a charitable organisation), you will have a proven track record in budget management and strategic commercial decision-making. Your experience leading large, diverse teams, with a focus on coaching and mentoring and extensive knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety will be paramount to success. As a strategic thinker with ethical values and commercial discipline, you will be an inspirational communicator who can unite people behind a shared vision.
