Job Description:
Leonardo offers a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer (Integration) to work on a high-profile project for the UK MOD. The role involves working within the Combat Air business group, providing exposure to a wide range of Electronic Warfare (EW) products and subject-matter experts across domain, product, and technology fields. The successful candidate will contribute to system integration, testing, verification, validation, and trials activities, supporting project milestones. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple system interdependencies across Leonardo's business groups.
Due to the nature of the work, you must be able to obtain at least SC security clearance and may require access to caveated information such as UK eyes only. Please refer to the UK National Security Vetting site for more details.
This position requires some office-based work at Luton.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with professional engineers in a highly team-oriented environment.
* Manage daily tasks of junior engineers supporting integration activities.
* Develop mentoring and coaching skills.
* Lead subsystem testing and evaluation in laboratory settings.
* Produce, analyze, and document test data.
* Achieve acceptance/certification from relevant design authorities.
* Provide subsystem functional knowledge for system testing.
* Ensure evidence collection from system-level activities.
* Support the development and execution of system acceptance test procedures.
* Assist software/hardware teams with low-level functionality development.
* Engage with customer networks to ensure integration activities meet timelines and requirements.
* Support the development of overall system trials strategies.
Candidate Requirements:
* Ability to obtain SC clearance for UK-caveated programs.
* Strong technical background, ideally in airborne or EW systems.
* Experience in IV&V activities, including test plan and report development.
* Proven ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
* Experience in engineering gate reviews and design compliance assessments.
* Capability to handle complex designs and manage uncertainties.
* Experience supporting design/delivery teams in developing technical solutions.
* Self-motivated with problem-solving skills and resilience.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience working with diverse stakeholders at various seniority levels.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience with military product design and testing standards.
* Experience with Synthetic Environments in engineering solutions development.
