A new opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join a well‑established organisation based in Glasgow City Centre. This role offers an immediate start on a 2–3-month contract with a strong view to bing permanent. Just a short walk from local transport links, this is an ideal position for someone looking to build on their finance experience within a supportive and collaborative team. This is a full-time opportunity with standard hours being 08:30–17:00 Monday to Friday. This role is fully office-based, but after a period of probation, hybrid working can be offered.
Your new role
As Finance Assistant, you will play an integral role in the smooth running of the finance department. You will be responsible for a range of daily finance tasks, including:
1. Managing the sales ledger, raising invoices, and maintaining customer accounts
2. Processing accounts payable, including supplier invoices, payments, and handling queries
3. Administering employee expenses, ensuringpliance and accurate recording
4. Supporting with month‑end duties and assisting senior team members with reporting
5. Providing general finance administration and ad hoc support to the wider team
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
6. Previous experience in a Finance Assistant or similar finance role
7. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial data
8. Strongmunication skills and confidence dealing with internal and external stakeholders
9. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems
10. A proactive approach, with the ability to manage your workload effectively
