MSK Outpatient Paediatric Physiotherapist
This is a fixed term post for 12 months providing specialist MSK Outpatient physiotherapy to children and young people (CYP) in outpatient clinic settings. The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner delivering a specialist physiotherapy service to a designated caseload of CYP with a range of musculoskeletal issues and/or physical and mobility difficulties. A significant proportion of these children may have English as an additional language (EAL). The post holder will manage their own caseload across multiple clinic sites and work collaboratively with CYP, parents/carers and colleagues in Health, Education and Social Services in planning and delivering services.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist MSK Outpatient Physiotherapy services to children and young people with a variety of MSK conditions within Hillingdon
* Provide specialist advice, programmes and treatment plans to others regarding the management and care of CYP with MSK conditions
* Supervise the work of band 5 physiotherapists and students as required
* Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own clinical practice
* Undertake comprehensive assessments of patients, including those with diverse or complex presentations, using specialist knowledge and clinical reasoning to provide a clinical diagnosis
* Formulate and deliver specialised individual physiotherapy treatment programmes based on sound knowledge and experience
* Evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes as required
* Formulate clinical diagnoses and prognoses, make recommendations for intervention, and develop short- and long-term goals leading to a discharge plan
* Work in the community setting, which may include lone working with telephone support from a senior physiotherapist if required
* Be responsible for safe and competent use of all equipment and appliances used by patients
Qualifications
* Enthusiastic, HCPC registered Physiotherapist
* Excellent Paediatric musculoskeletal skills
* Interest in clinical audit / evidence-based practice / quality improvement projects
* NHS Physiotherapy experience

You will work across small outpatient clinics at GP surgeries/health centres and Hillingdon child development centre at Wood End Clinic.
