Overview
My client, a market leading, innovative Environmental Consultancy, is searching for an Associate Flood Risk and Drainage Engineer to manage a Water Team based in Bristol. Hybrid working is available.
The role requires a strong academic background in a relevant discipline and Chartered status (achieved or close to). You will have extensive experience working for a UK-based Consultancy specialising in flood risk, hydrology, hydraulic modelling, flood alleviation, drainage or river engineering.
You will also have the drive to develop new business opportunities with the support of the team, and experience managing projects, promoting company services and mentoring team members.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team of Engineers based in Bristol; manage projects, mentor and train team members, and develop new business opportunities.
* Check, complete and amend technical work spanning flood risk, drainage, hydraulic modelling, nutrient neutrality, flood alleviation and river restoration schemes across the UK.
* Support the existing technical team and manage/coordinate projects while updating Clients with project progress.
* Oversee projects spanning the following areas: Flood Alleviation Schemes; River Restoration and Natural Habitat Management; Pollution Incidents and Nutrient Neutrality; Drainage Strategies and designs; Hydrological and Hydraulic Modelling; Bid Proposals and Tenders; Natural Flood Management and Renewable Energy Projects.
Qualifications and Experience
* Strong academic background in a relevant discipline.
* Qualified or near Chartered status (essential).
* Significant experience with a UK-based consultancy specialising in flood risk, hydrology, hydraulic modelling, flood alleviation, drainage or river engineering.
* Proven ability to develop business opportunities, manage projects, promote services and mentor team members.
