The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is searching for a Head of Engineering to support and enhance our project delivery team. What will you be doing as our new Head of Engineering ? As our new Head of Engineering, you will be accountable for all aspects of the design and management of the Engineering function, including managing resources both internal and external along with engineering outputs and quality. The Head of Engineering is a key leadership role within the Strategic Pipeline Alliance project and is accountable for all design activities. The role forms part of the SPA Senior Leadership Team (SLT). visible, and you will be required to be an active and approachable leader to both within the Alliance and the Engineering team. Key responsibilities: Develop and maintain the Engineering Strategy and resource needs to ensure appropriate resources are in place to meet the SPA delivery requirements, including utilisation of partner Global Design resources Ensure your teams have the required capacity, capability, and competency to meet the needs of the business. Work with the Programme Area Managers, Senior Project Managers and Design Managers to develop and maintain an up-to-date resource and delivery schedule is available. Enable and lead a collaborative culture within the engineering team to ensure consistent quality outputs Be an active part of the SPA Senior Leadership Team, lead a collaborative culture within the engineering team, and manage the key technical stakeholders. Drive a culture of continuous improvement in Health & Safety (H&S), ensuring consistent H&S standards are maintained. A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours: This job might be for you if you are: Qualified to degree level in an engineering subject Experienced in a similar technical role, with experience on managing multi-disciplinary design teams and projects Able to manage situations proactively, proving leadership, guiding on priorities, and has the ability to think and plan ahead. Able to demonstrate a high sense of personal responsibility through commitment to results and caring about people Able to train, coach and mentor others; is open to a challenge and accepts and provides it to drive continuous improvement.
