As Maintenance Supervisor you will oversee the day to date running of a team of craftsmen and semi-skilled staff, along with contract staff, to ensure compliance with Health Board standards, policies and procedures. You will provide technical advice, training, and support where needed.
You will have a broad practical knowledge of engineering and building practices, with the ability to work with the team to find solutions to technical challenges.

This does not mean essential; whilst the candidate does not need to have skills in Welsh, we’ll consider it an advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just speaking & listening skills at level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. Main duties of the job
* Ensuring maintenance repairs, minor works, and planned preventive maintenance are undertaken.
* Supervision of a multidisciplinary team of craftsmen and semi-skilled staff, including contract staff where needed.
* Provide technical advice, training, and support to team members. You will support the development of staff through mentoring and skills development.
* Ensure compliance with Health Board policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
* Manage resources effectively to maintain operational efficiency and safety.
Person Specification
Skills
* Good negotiation and influencing skills.
* Able to produce and interpret reports.
* Welsh Language speaking/listening skills at level 3 or above.
Experience
* Significant experience within a maintenance environment, post apprenticeship.
* Hospital experience.
Qualifications
* Time served apprenticeship / modern apprenticeship.
* ONC / HNC / Certificate.
