About Eka
Eka Ventures is an early-stage VC firm that invests across three themes:
* Life: Technology that enables better access and affordability in life essential products and services.
* Health: Healthcare technology that enables the shift from a reactive to a preventative healthcare model.
* Sustainability: Technology that enables resource efficiency and decarbonisation in large consumer industries.
We lead pre-seed and seed rounds with investments of £750k-£3m. We have £148m AUM and are currently investing out of Fund II.
Since closing Fund I, we have backed some of the most exciting companies in health and sustainable technology, for example Axle Energy, Runna, Foresight Data Machines, Hived, Flok Health, Sourceful and Cyclana Bio.
We are on a mission to prove that backing companies driving positive system change delivers outlier investor returns.
The Role
The role provides an opportunity for an Associate to be involved across the full spectrum of the venture capital business. The role will be split roughly 60:40 between sourcing new investments and contributing to building Eka as a firm, including adding to our data platform.
We’re looking for an individual who is AI-native and wants to use data to find founders extremely early and be driven to relentlessly hunt down the next outlier company.
Investing (60%)
* Find and qualify companies (using AI to improve the speed and quality of investments).
* Speak with founders, run research and analysis to identify high quality investments.
* Build your and Eka’s network with other VCs and technology leaders.
Firm building (40%)
* Building the data platform alongside Sunaina Donimath.
* Design and run ecosystem events that bring together founders, investors & industry partners.
* Develop strong relationships with follow-on investors for portfolio companies.
* Support on investor reporting, impact reporting.
* Support on brand building activities.
* Lead ad-hoc portfolio company projects.
How you’ll work
You’re a highly self-motivated and independent builder who enjoys moving quickly and experimenting to improve how we operate. Is comfortable context switching and has a good eye for detail alongside an ability to spot trends/patterns.
What we’re looking for
* A deep interest in how technology and science can reshape business models and industries
* Types of experience we are looking for (0-2 years out of University)
* Tier 1 Academics in a technical subject (For example, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Psychology)
* Outlier experience (For example, high level sport or music,scaled a business or large community)
* Top performer in a high growth startup or Tier 1 bank / consulting firm.
* Curiosity about applying AI to sourcing, enrichment, diligence, and ops.
* Interest in venture and measurable impact; ability to reason about business models and market structure.
* High autonomy, collaborative, generous with knowledge and loves to win.
Compensation & setup

* £1,000 annual health & wellbeing budget.
* At least 4 days/week in our London office in Soho.
