Join the legacy of one of Scotland's most iconic distillers and help shape the future of automation at our Dufftown site. At William Grant & Sons, we blend tradition with innovation and we're looking for a skilled Automation Technician to ensure our systems run as smoothly as our spirits.
What you'll be doing
* Managing the full automation network across the Dufftown site, including PLCs, servers, switches, and software systems
* Performing diagnostic checks and troubleshooting across SCADA, IO, MCC panels, and more
* Leading upgrades, bug fixes, and integration of new equipment into existing installations
* Ensuring all software and hardware meet company standards and compliance requirements.
* Planning and executing PLC and Automation CSD checks, backups, and system validations.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and maintain robust control systems.
* Developing and maintaining coding standards, change control processes, and remote access protocols.
* Building a trusted network of approved system integrators and assessing their competencies
* Driving continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to strategic automation projects
* Championing best practices and compliance with William Grant & Sons' processes and standards
About You
* Proven experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial automation hardware/software
* Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
* Familiarity with coding standards, software change management, and system architecture
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* A proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous learning and development
