What you will do
* Manage a complex caseload independently while ensuring all interventions prioritise the safety and well-being of children and young people.
* Conduct comprehensive family assessments with a focus on social needs and potential risks, particularly regarding parental capacity and change.
* Directly engage with children, young people, and families, applying Signs of Safety methodology to foster collaborative solutions.
* Navigate legal frameworks and the family and youth justice systems to safeguard children and support families effectively.
* Develop child-centred plans, working in unison with multi-agency partners to meet the needs and address risks for each child.
* Mentor junior staff, offering shadowing and work experience opportunities, as well as contributing to team champion roles.
* Contribute to planning and reviewing cases of children in care, ensuring the best outcomes in fostering and adoption arrangements.
* Maintain detailed case notes, write reports, and present evidence in court as required, ensuring all documentation is thorough and professional.
Qualifications
* Degree in Social Work and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Extensive post-qualification experience in children and families' social work.
* Strong communication, report writing, and evaluative skills, and the ability to work across a large geographical area.
