Creative Teaching Assistant

Salary: £90–£115 per day (dependent on experience)

A forward-thinking and inclusive school in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an enthusiastic and imaginative Creative Teaching Assistant to join their team. This Creative Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone with a background in art, music, drama, sports or other creative disciplines who is passionate about engaging pupils through innovative approaches to learning.
The successful Creative Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers to support pupils across the curriculum, using creative strategies to enhance engagement and participation. As a Creative Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-to-one and small group support, particularly for pupils who benefit from alternative or hands-on learning approaches.
Key Responsibilities of the Creative Teaching Assistant:
* Supporting teaching and learning through creative activities.
* Delivering small group interventions and 1:1 support.
* Assisting with lesson preparation and resource creation.
* Promoting positive behaviour and classroom engagement.
* Supporting pupils with SEND or additional needs where required.
* Helping to create an inclusive, stimulating learning environment.
The Ideal Creative Teaching Assistant Will:
* Have previous experience working with children or young people.
* Bring a creative skillset such as art, drama, music or sport.
* Be energetic, adaptable and proactive.
* Have strong communication and behaviour management skills.
* Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
* Have a fully checkable work history.
