ROLE- Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION- Hereford
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £30,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience
My client manufactures a specialist products for a variety of sectors. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Hereford.
They are happy to consider a range of experience for the role, form a minimum of 2+ years up to Senior.
The Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation position
Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar is desirable, but not a necessity
Previous experience with Sheet-Metal / Fabrication is desired.
Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.
Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
Have the ability to carry out mechanical calculations
Any previous experience of working with process machinery or steel / metal materials would be desirable
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Proficient using MS Office
Excellent organisational skills and time management skillsThe Design Engineer role will involve:
Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
Producing 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD
Liaising with manufacturing providers
Being involved in final assembly of products
Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
Updating 3D models and drawings
Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
Checking drawings for sign off
