We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Maths Teacher to join our team, specialising in supporting pupils with ASC and other associated needs. The successful candidate will play a vital role in creating an inclusive learning environment, adapting curriculum content, and implementing individualized strategies to meet the diverse needs of our students.

Purpose of the Role:
To deliver high-quality teaching and learning in Mathematics across the school, and to contribute to the wider curriculum where appropriate ( Computing or other subjects). The role also includes form tutor responsibilities, supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of a tutor group. The role involves working with students with Special Educational Needs, including high-functioning autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Clay Hill School is dedicated to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and associated needs. Our mission is to empower every child to achieve their potential through tailored support and high-quality teaching.

Teaching and Learning:

13. Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Maths lessons across Key Stages
14. Support delivery of additional subject areas ( Computing) where appropriate
15. Adapt teaching to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students with SEN
16. Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing regular feedback
17. Maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning in line with school policy
18. Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities

Tutor Responsibilities:

19. Act as a form tutor, taking responsibility for a tutor group
20. Monitor attendance, punctuality, and wellbeing of students
21. Deliver tutor time activities, including PSHE and personal development
22. Build positive relationships with students, supporting their personal and academic progress
23. Liaise with families regarding student progress, attendance, and wellbeing

Pastoral and Safeguarding Responsibilities:

24. Support students’ social, emotional, and mental health needs
25. Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures
26. Work closely with the safeguarding and pastoral teams
27. Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Wider Professional Duties:

28. Contribute to the wider life of the school, including trips, enrichment, and events
29. Work collaboratively with colleagues, including support staff and senior leaders
30. Engage in CPD and professional development opportunities
31. Uphold the values and ethos of Clay Hill School

Person Specification (Summary):

32. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
33. Experience teaching Mathematics
34. Ability or willingness to teach an additional subject ( Computing)
35. Experience or strong interest in working with SEN students (particularly autism and SEMH)
36. Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
37. Commitment to inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
