As our Head of Governance & Compliance, you will:
* Ensure exemplary governance across our Board and Local Academy Committees
* Lead on statutory compliance and data management
* Act as Company Secretary, overseeing legal and regulatory duties
* Drive a culture of integrity, transparency and collaboration
* Support recruitment, induction and development of trustees and governors

The Role
This is a senior role within the Trust’s executive team. The post holder will be the Trust’s Governance Professional as defined in the Academy Trust Handbook, providing professional advice and support to the Board of Trustees, Executive team and Local Academy Committees. They will ensure that the Trust is compliant in relation to data management, maintaining the highest standards of awareness. In addition, they will act as Company Secretary. The Head of Governance & Compliance will be expected to lead the service provision and line manage the team effectively, ensuring that the Board and the Local Academy Committees are supported to do their work to the highest standards, providing outstanding administrative support, guidance on governance matters, advising on recruitment and developing appropriate induction and training opportunities for members. They will be expected to become familiar with INMAT’s articles of association and funding agreements, the terms of reference of the board, Local Academy Committees, the scheme of delegation and other documents and policies relating to our central and local governance, and to keep abreast of developments in academy governance to be able to give procedural and strategic advice to the Chair of the Board and the Chief Executive Officer. As Company Secretary they will also be responsible for company filings and other administrative matters relating to the Trust’s status as a company limited by guarantee and a charity regulated by the Secretary of State for education.
