Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD)
Salary up to £75,000 (depending on experience)
Remote
I’m working with a well-established health, safety, and building compliance consultancy that has been operating successfully for over 20 years. They’re a close-knit, highly experienced team known for their technical integrity, collaborative approach, and focus on quality delivery.
Due to continued growth, they’re looking for a Building Regulations Principal Designer (BRPD) to join their team. The role focuses purely on technical delivery of Principal Designer duties under the Building Safety Act 2022 – there are no line management responsibilities, and you’ll work as part of a supportive group of five professionals who share a varied and interesting workload.
This is a remote role with full flexibility - you can work from home, or from their Bedfordshire base if you prefer a mix of office interaction. It’s a genuinely collaborative environment where people are trusted to manage their own work and supported to develop their expertise.
The Opportunity
You’ll play a key part in guiding design teams and clients through compliance with the Building Safety Act across a range of developments, including both non-high risk and high-risk buildings (HRBs). You’ll contribute to safe, compliant, and well-managed design processes from concept through to construction.
It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys technical challenges, communication across disciplines, and the satisfaction of helping projects meet their compliance goals.
What You’ll Need
* Solid understanding of the Building Safety Act 2022 and Building Regulations.
* A background in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or Construction Management.
* Strong communicator with an eye for detail and a process-driven mindset.
* Experience working on or awareness of High Risk Buildings (HRBs).
* Eligible to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available).
* Chartership or progress toward a professional accreditation (e.g., RIBA, CIAT, CIOB, APS) would be an advantage but isn’t essential.
Why Apply?
* Salary up to £75K, depending on experience.
* Full flexibility – remote, hybrid, or office-based working.
* Join a friendly, knowledgeable team with over 20 years of proven success.
* Opportunity to develop your career in a specialist, growing field.
* Involvement in diverse projects – from smaller schemes to large, high-profile developments.
* A supportive culture where collaboration and professional development are genuinely valued.
