A well-regarded 11–18 secondary school in Shrewsbury is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of Geography to join its Humanities team from January 2026. The school is known for strong pastoral care, excellent behaviour and a curriculum that encourages curiosity, global awareness and critical thinking.
The Role
You will teach Geography across KS3–KS4, with opportunities to deliver A-Level as the department continues to grow. The curriculum is knowledge-rich, built around real-world case studies, local fieldwork opportunities and clear progression from enquiry to application. The Geography team shares centrally planned resources but encourages teachers to bring their own subject passion and creativity into lessons.
Facilities & Department
The Humanities block includes spacious classrooms, dedicated ICT access and a large shared workspace for planning. Fieldwork is a key component of the department’s offer, with well-established trips to local rivers, urban centres and coastal sites. Students respond positively to the subject and uptake at GCSE remains strong.
