Overview
The ALIM Proofreader is responsible for verifying the accuracy and consistency of final printed secondary packaging artwork against Editor’s Copy (EC) documents.
The role involves conducting detailed technical reviews of packaging and labelling components across the pharmaceutical portfolio, ensuring compliance with global regulatory requirements, local market specifications, and company trade dress guidelines. Work will involve reviewing packaging artwork across multiple global markets and languages in accordance with internal SOPs.
You will collaborate with several global teams including Worldwide Safety & Regulatory (WSR) and Global Labelling Management (GLM).
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct document verification proofing of packaging and labelling artwork against Editor’s Copy (EC) documents.
* Ensure compliance with local country and regional formatting, regulatory, and style guidelines.
* Review and evaluate updates to packaging and labelling artwork to ensure accuracy and consistency across product lines.
* Identify inconsistencies and liaise with ALIM Market Coordinators, and my client’s artwork centres to resolve issues.
* Annotate packaging and labelling artwork using digital proofing tools.
* Use professional judgement to approve or reject artwork based on compliance and accuracy.
* Provide clear feedback and explanations to artwork teams to enable accurate artwork revisions.
* Provide editorial input on regulatory documents prior to artwork creation when requested.
* Escalate issues and support discussions with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency across labelling documentation.
Key Skills & Experience
* Bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical proofreading, packaging components, or medical/scientific documentation.
* 4+ years’ pharmaceutical proofreading experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
* Strong editing and proofreading skills with knowledge of medical/scientific terminology.
* Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain concentration during detailed document review.
* Strong comprehension skills with the ability to identify errors in typography, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and style.
* Ability to review documentation across multiple languages (non-native language experience highly desirable).
* Experience using mechanised or electronic proofreading tools, such as vision systems or comparators.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements
* Ability to work in a role requiring frequent and prolonged reading.
* 20/20 colour vision is required.
* Flexibility to work occasional overtime when required.
