Who is my client:
Middlesbrough College is the largest further educationprovider in Teesside.
It provides predominantlyfurther education but also selected higher education provisions toover 13,000 students. The College also employs over 1,000 staff out oftheir £100m state of the art campus on the banks of the tees.
Whilst retaining and developing its traditionaloffering it has also recently been selected as the Tees Valley hub ofthe North East’s Institute of Technology – A new concept providinghigher technical training through collaboration between further andhigher education and employers. The funding secured through theInstitute of Technology has been invested in extending the College’sSTEM Centre, the latest expansion of the Middlesbrough College group,bringing a range of academic, technical, and vocational trainingopportunities to learners across the region.
Teesside is set to benefit from a number of excitingdevelopments! To name but a few, the largely discussed Freeport andthe creation of a treasury northern campus will bring revenue thatwill create a vast number of opportunities to the people of ourregion.
Role summary:
The Human Resources Business Partner willpromote, communicate and implement college wide Human Resourcesinitiatives and functions. The successful candidate will ensure thealigning of HR to meet the business needs and influencing key businessdecisions to ensure the effective management and development of staff.
Responsibilities:
* Undertake and lead on specific Human Resources projectworking in a professional and timely manner, as agreed with the HumanResources Manager.
* Recruitment & Resourcing.
* WellBeing & Benefits.
* Performance & Development.
* Relations & Equalities.
* Provide a Human Resourcesinterface and partnership service to each assigned Directorate /Service Area, through the provision of high-quality guidance andsupport in developing and progressing Human Resources managementsolutions to achieve business objectives.
* Variably undertake,advise and support a broad range of Human Resources generalistfunctions, whilst supporting and challenging managers in theapplication of Human Resources policies and practices, including:
* Management.
* Well Being.
* Management.
* Management.
* Benefits & Rewards.
* Develop andregularly update comprehensive Human Resources related dashboard foreach assigned Directorate / Service Area, and to work with eachappropriate manager to assist in the identification and prioritisationof areas for improvement.
* Ensure professional employeerelations are created and maintained at all times, ensuring a healthyclient focused model is established.
* Conduct regular linemanager training on Human Resources matters including the HumanResources Management and Business Partnership training program.
* Communicate Human Resources developments, updates andmeasured outcomes to each assigned Directorate / Service Area.
* Always ensure that the Colleges statutory duties in respectof employment legislation are enforced by College managers.
* Openly encourage cross-functional working within the HumanResources team, whilst exchanging and sharing good practice, todeliver outstanding client service and identifying any actions forimprovements.
* Ensure the Human Resources Business Partnershipadds business value to each assigned Directorate / Service Area.
* Promote and develop an e-Human Resources model for all HumanResources functions, where possible.
Essential Requirements:
* Level 5 Human Resource Managementor working towards
* Ability to undertake, advise and support abroad range of Human Resources generalist functions whilst supportingand challenging managers in the application of HR policies andpractices.
* Interpersonal, written and verbal communicationskills and the ability to engage and influence colleagues at alllevels within the organisation.
* Knowledge of current HRlegislation.
* Knowledge of ACAS best practice.
