We are working in partnership with a forward-thinking and supportive secondary school in Corby that is seeking to appoint a Science Technician from September 2026. The school is ideally looking for a permanent appointment, although fixed-term and long-term supply arrangements will be considered for the right candidate. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established Science department and play a key role in supporting both staff and students across a range of engaging practical lessons. About the Role As a Science Technician, you will support the delivery of practical Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, helping to create a safe and effective learning environment. Your responsibilities will include: Preparing equipment, materials, and resources for practical experiments Setting up and clearing away laboratory equipment safely and efficiently Maintaining laboratory stock, resources, and chemical inventories Ensuring laboratories remain clean, organised, and fully equipped Supporting teachers with practical demonstrations and investigations Carrying out routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment Assisting with risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures Ordering and monitoring laboratory supplies when required Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Has experience working in a laboratory, scientific, or educational environment Has strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail Is confident working with scientific equipment and materials Has a good understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures Is proactive, reliable, and able to work independently and as part of a team Is enthusiastic about supporting Science education and student success Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable but not essential. Candidates with Science qualifications, laboratory experience, or relevant transferable skills are encouraged to apply.
