Steele Charles are delighted to be representing a Northallerton based client on a Multi-Skilled Engineer, where you will be responsible for fabrication, general maintenance, and supporting plant facilities and services. Your role will assist the Production and Quality teams in maintaining optimal performance, with opportunities for career growth in a brand new, custom-fitted site under a strong leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and machines.
* Perform routine maintenance on building systems and equipment.
* Assist with facility upkeep and order necessary materials.
* Calibrate and test plant equipment in line with CMMS and vendor recommendations.
* Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely, safe maintenance tasks.
* Respond promptly to plant/equipment failures and maintain CMMS records.
* Manage spares inventory to ensure operational reliability.
* Oversee permit to work systems (e.g., LOTO, hot works).
* Use remote monitoring tools to check plant conditions.
* Participate in shutdown planning and Health & Safety initiatives.
* Suggest improvements for plant reliability and efficiency.
Skills & Experience:
* Multi-skilled with a cross-functional mindset.
* Prior experience in facility maintenance and high-volume manufacturing environments is a plus.
* Strong problem-solving, analytical, and computer skills.
* Effective communicator and team player.
* Ability to manage time and tasks within deadlines and budget.
