Pig Stockperson -Dorset - £29,000 – £32,000
The Job:
A hands on role working as part of a pig unit, focused on the day to day care and management of livestock. You’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards of animal welfare, supporting production targets, and keeping routines running smoothly across the unit. The role will involve working across different stages of production, carrying out general stock duties, monitoring animal health and supporting breeding and farrowing where required. It’s a practical role suited to someone who is reliable, observant and comfortable working in a farm environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily care of pigs across relevant production stages
- Feeding, watering, and general husbandry work
- Monitoring health and behaviour, acting quickly if issues arise
- Administering treatments in line with guidance
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene and biosecurity
- Assisting with breeding, farrowing, and piglet care
- Operating and maintaining equipment safely
- Keeping accurate records of health, feed, and performance
- Working with the wider team to meet production targets

A well run farming business operating a commercial pig unit, focused on maintaining good welfare standards, efficient production and a supportive working environment.
The Candidate:
- Previous experience working with pigs in a commercial setting
- Good understanding of animal welfare and stockmanship
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot issues early
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and comfortable working in an outdoor environment
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to the role
- Agricultural qualification, multi-stage experience, or basic mechanical skills would be an advantage
The Package:
- Salary £29,000 – £32,000 DOE
- Full-time, permanent role
- Ongoing training and development
- Opportunity to work within a progressive farming business
- Hours - Full-time, including early starts, weekends, and bank holidays on a rota basis

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
