We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will be working in a fast paced retail environment where no day is the same. You will play an important role in the day-to-day operations of our store activities by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance. You will be focused on improving service through on-the-job coaching and feedback, and you will help ensure the store remains a safe place to work and shop.
Responsibilities
* I know my customers and serve them with passion and pride, delivering great natural service.
* I actively encourage customers to provide feedback on their shopping trip through completing the ‘have your say’ survey.
* I work across all areas of the store including online, the tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines to ensure tasks meet customer needs.
* Put into practice the training I have received to work safely.
* Take part in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
* Be knowledgeable about store performance and understand the part I play to deliver profit.
* Live our values, make everyone feel welcome and follow store policies.
* Clock in and out at the start and end of shifts to ensure accurate pay for hours worked.
* Keep myself, colleagues and customers safe by following security procedures and wearing safety equipment where available.
* Follow the Think 25 policy when serving age‑restricted products.
* Respond quickly to assistance calls or interventions on self‑service checkouts, explaining actions to the customer.
* Maintain a clean, tidy and organized store, keeping aisles clear.
* May be responsible for running the shift in the absence of the Shift Leader and Store Manager.
* Follow all training to keep staff and store safe and compliant.
* If the store has a Post Office Local, duties include day-to-day post office operations and a background check; you must pass these checks to proceed with the role.
