Are you a technically strong Risk Engineer with proven experience in project controls and leadership? We're seeking a highly skilled professional with in-depth knowledge of risk management tools and processes to support a high-profile engineering programme.
Lead Planning, Monitoring & Control Professional - Risk
Contract - 6 Months
Location: Barrow-in-Furness (2 days onsite fortnightly)
Rate: £63.40/hour (Umbrella) or £47/hour (PAYE)
Clearance: UK Eyes Only - Must be eligible for BPSS and SC clearance
Key Responsibilities
* Lead risk-based PM&C activities on a work package or small-scale project.
* Manage and coach a small team (up to 5 staff), driving performance and delivery.
* Analyse and assess project risks using ARM (Active Risk Manager) software.
* Apply both predictive (plan-driven) and adaptive (agile) PM&C methodologies.
* Produce and interpret detailed project reports and schedules.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure delivery against time, cost, and quality targets.
* Advise stakeholders using data-led insights to support decision-making.
* Promote the development and application of best practice in project risk management.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Extensive experience with ARM (Active Risk Manager) software.
* Strong background in technical risk analysis and mitigation.
* Previous experience in infrastructure or construction environments.
* Leadership experience, including mentoring and developing junior staff.
* High-level proficiency in project reporting, scheduling, and stakeholder management.
* Sound knowledge of PM&C governance frameworks (e.g. IBRs, LCM).
* Degree qualified (or equivalent experience), with a professional PM qualification (e.g. APM PMQ).
Desirable
* Experience working within highly regulated industries (e.g. defence, nuclear).
* Strong analytical skills and business acumen beyond immediate team scope.

* This role requires individuals to be UK nationals and eligible for UK Security Clearance.
