Overview
A well‑established Primary SEMH specialist school in Burnley is seeking a committed SEN Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with additional emotional and behavioural needs. This demanding yet highly rewarding role is ideal for individuals with strong resilience, empathy and a genuine desire to make a difference.
Responsibilities
* Work with pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, delivering one‑to‑one and small‑group support to help them engage with learning and develop more positive behavioural patterns.
* Manage challenging behaviour, using structured and consistent strategies to support emotional regulation and de‑escalate situations.
* Build strong, trusting relationships and act as a reliable and positive role model for pupils requiring stability, guidance and encouragement.
* Support pupils with SEMH, ADHD, Autism and trauma‑related behaviours, helping them overcome barriers to learning and build confidence both in and out of the classroom.
Qualifications
* Experience working with children or young people in a school, youth work, care or coaching environment.
* Strong behaviour management skills.
* Resilient, patient and confident.
* Ability to build positive, trusting relationships.
* Passion for supporting vulnerable pupils.
