Role description:
With AMP8 in mind, we are actively recruiting for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our MEICA team. You'll join a dedicated team of professionals where you'll contribute and apply your skills to projects in the clean water & wastewater sector, both regionally and across the UK.
The role sits within our Resilience Global Business Area, which focuses on protecting our environment and water resources while powering future generations. Our work addresses challenges like climate change, urbanization, and biodiversity loss, including large-scale events such as floods and wildfires.
Role accountabilities:
* Carry out production and checking of complex electrical detailed designs, including calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings, independently and as part of a team.
* Support and lead design and advisory services for water and wastewater process plants, pumping stations, and ancillary assets.
* Ensure safety through design leadership and actions.
* Deliver multi-disciplinary projects as a Design Lead, utilizing digital design techniques.
* Develop innovative, optimized technical solutions based on client needs.
* Coordinate work with multi-disciplinary teams (process, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, ICA).
* Build and maintain relationships with clients and project partners regarding technical, commercial, and progress matters.
* Ensure projects meet technical, legislative, quality, safety, and environmental standards.
* Mentor staff and support their performance development.
* Capture key project and technical knowledge, including innovations.
* Promote the capabilities and achievements of the MEICA team internally and externally.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
* Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards it, with membership of a professional institution (e.g., IET, InstMC, CIWEM).
* Significant experience in delivering process plant systems on complex water industry projects.
* Experience with design and construct projects using digital design.
* Proven leadership in technical/disciplined teams with collaborative behaviors.
* Experience from feasibility to detailed design stages.
