Overview
As a Streetlighting Technician, you will work with operational and design teams to ensure street lighting standards are maintained within asset management and relevant legislation. You will manage the street lighting asset database, maintain new technologies and maintenance programmes, and be the first point of contact to respond to enquiries and provide information to the public and stakeholders.
What You Will Be Doing
* Manage and develop the street lighting asset database, ensuring alignment of new technologies, maintenance programmes, policies and strategies.
* Create and present reports to assess street lighting stock and build future works programmes, advising on the action required.
* Use your technical knowledge to assess situations, resolve problems and provide advice and guidance to meet changing operational needs.
* Monitor works for compliance within policy and design, and attend technical meetings with other authorities and departments.
* Contribute to street lighting policy reviews, updating and maintaining technical specifications and policy documents relating to street lighting and associated infrastructure.
What We Need From You
* HNC or equivalent in a related discipline such as building services, highways, asset management, civil engineering or electrical.
* Knowledge of Electrical Regulations 1989 and the Health and Safety Act 1974.
* Recent experience in database administration, including extraction and analysis of complex information and a high level of competence in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Customer-focused approach and good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive relationships.
What You Need To Know
* You will be required to work outside normal hours in emergency situations; a call-out fee and overtime are paid.
