The Role/Profile
Ocado is looking for an experienced Brand Marketing Manager to develop and execute new customer acquisition strategies across print & partnership activations. This hands-on role requires in-depth marketing expertise - especially with acquisition print, an excellent understanding of the UK print and partnership landscape, external network & stakeholder management and management of multi-million pound annual budgets.
Additional key skills of the role are a strong understanding of print creative requirements, print CPAs and optimisation, agencies and deadline management, partnership creation and liaison, strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills, and existing relationships with key partners. This role is best suited to someone who is highly organised with confidence in managing deadlines and a varied workload.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate across Ocado Retail to develop and implement an effective strategy that drives brand consideration, new customer demand and meets our business objectives
2. Establish and maintain relationships with counterparts at Ocado Retail and third party agencies
3. Determine investment and success criteria for initiatives that align to brand marketing strategy
4. Lead ongoing optimisation of the channels, closely monitoring performance day to day
5. Own the print and partnership budgets to ensure they are met and management appropriately
6. Identify and propose new opportunities with existing and new partners to drive revenues and reduce costs
7. Deliver and report on SMART cross-channel KPIs, sharing learnings and recommendations.
8. Prepare brilliant creative & campaign activation briefs that align to brand marketing strategy
9. Manage the day-to-day flow between Ocado and third party creative and media agencies
10. Keep up-to-date with the customer needs and opportunities via research, brand tracking insights and data available across ORL departments.
11. Line management of a junior team member including their project performance, as appropriate.
12. Work closely with Trade to ensure all key Ocado marketing moments are covered appropriately
13. Work with your team to continually recruit and activate new partnerships to support Ocado’s growth targets and future proof & diversify the channel
14. Maintain a good profile within the partnerships and print industry, keeping up to date on industry trends and best practices
Key skills
15. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in print (door drop, inserts) management and strategy execution
16. Line Management experience (desired)
17. Target driven with a strong commercial understanding and ability to report an make decisions based on marketing KPIs
18. Good understanding on measuring full customer conversion path and data driven attribution models
19. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
20. Excellent time management and organisational skills.
21. Experience working with creative and media agencies (either client or agency side) an advantage
22. Experience with econometrics modelling an advantage
23. Retail or ecommerce background beneficial (FMCG advantageous)
