At Adel Beck we care for 24 young people aged 10 to 18. They are referred to us following court proceedings, placed on remand, or sentenced to a period of detention, or because they need to be placed in secure accommodation for their own safety or the safety of others. You will lead on the case management and delivery of targeted intervention for a unit of 8 young people and have a vital role in the progress, development, and transition opportunities for vulnerable young people, who may have complex needs and display challenging behaviours.

About the role
As our next Case Management & Intervention Lead, you will have oversight and coordination of a eight young people at Adel Beck. You will play an active role in the coordination and care planning of young people’s placement at Adel Beck, using solution focussed and restorative approaches to support the young people, families and professional network.
You will:
6. Contribute proactively to the positive development of children and young people through high quality assessment, planning and provision of Care and Interventions Programmes.
7. Assess individual needs and provide appropriate interventions to meet the level of the complex issues and risks associated with the behaviours identified.
8. Develop and sustain effective working and information sharing protocols with colleagues and external partner agencies to ensure an integrated service is provided, delivered and maintained.
9. Work alongside the Casework and Interventions Manager in coordinating, monitoring and attending all reviews for the young people, ensuring these are scheduled and held within timescales

Adel Beck: All staff are required to support the Home’s main purpose of encouraging and enabling children and young people to develop attitudinally, behaviourally, educationally, and emotionally in order that they may deliver positive contributions to their families, society and their local communities whilst reducing offending, resulting in the decrease in victims of youth crime. To work together with colleagues from all other service areas within the home to provide and maintain a safe and secure living and learning environment that promotes the safety and welfare of children and young people in which they can prosper, develop, and achieve. Role: To provide an efficient and effective Case Management, Care and Interventions Programmes Service that meets with Childrens Homes Regulations, Children’s Homes National Minimum Standards, Youth Justice Standards, Leeds City Council and the homes policies, procedures and guidance. Promote and reinforce effective practice ensuring that the Work Force Development Strategy is being met and appropriate training is accessed and developed.

17. Contribute proactively to the positive development of children and young people through high quality assessment, planning and provision of Care and Interventions Programmes.
18. Assess individual needs and provide appropriate interventions to meet the level of the complex issues and risks associated with the behaviours identified.
19. Develop and maintain specialist input and services that are in the best interests of the child or young person and be able to communicate these effectively to all stakeholders.
20. Monitor and evaluate interventions designed to promote, positive options, desistance from offending and Effective Practice
21. Develop and sustain effective working and information sharing protocols with colleagues and external partner agencies to ensure an integrated service is provided, delivered and maintained.
22. Monitor and evaluate engagement skills and the competency of practitioners and students on placement through observation and feedback.
23. Monitor and evaluate the engagement of young people and families through assessment and intervention planning and delivery.
24. Develop self to enhance performance and practice through reflection and learning, share knowledge, best practice, promote ideas for innovation and improvement and use information to take effective decisions.
25. Support the Casework and Interventions Manager in coordinating and monitoring the scheduling of reviews, ensuring they are held within timescales.
26. Assist the Casework and Interventions Manager in the maintenance of a database detailing each child and young person’s Care and Interventions Programme, recording progress.
27. Manage difficult situations and people who display volatile and challenging behaviour
28. Communicate, engage and build positive relationships with staff, children, young people, their families and other professionals.
29. Participate in developing and maintaining resource materials for Care Planning and Interventions and Staff Development.
30. Deliver 1:1 and group interventions, ensuring consistency of delivery to allow for effective practice and evaluations.
31. Work with colleagues to evaluate and analyse the transitions process.
32. QCF Assessor (willing to work towards).
33. To physically restrain and control in line with approved restraint techniques, guidelines and procedure (training will be provided).
34. To participate in annual appraisal, training and development activities as necessary to ensure up to date knowledge and skills.
35. Ensure prior to using any equipment or undertaking an activity a risk assessment is in place and a safety data sheet available if required.
36. In line with the Medication Policy and Procedure administer and record prescribed and other medication if required.
37. Contribute to the development of the Casework and Interventions Service
38. Provide reports, attend and chair meetings and reviews as required.
39. Deliver Casework and Interventions services by the use of current software programmes and packages.
40. To undertake any other duties that, are commensurate with the job evaluation outcome for this post.

Essential requirements It is essential that the candidate should be able to demonstrate the following criteria for the post. Candidates will only be shortlisted for interview if they can demonstrate that they meet all the essential requirements.

67. Experience of developing and maintaining professional relationships with third party agencies and families
68. Experience of developing monitoring systems and providing feedback
69. Experience of preparing for and chairing meetings, including the distribution of meeting action plans.
