Job Description
An exciting opportunity is now available. As part of the development of Aberdeenshire's Bairns' Hoose, we are recruiting a Bairns' Hoose Employee Development Officer. The successful candidate will play a central role in developing Aberdeenshire's Bairns' Hoose, focusing on the learning and development of multi-agency staff with an emphasis on Child Protection. This role ensures that all children, young people, and their families receive trauma-informed and child-focused interventions throughout their Bairns' Hoose journey. The post holder will coordinate the multi-agency workforce to identify training needs and gaps aligned with the Bairns' Hoose and Child Protection initiatives. They should be enthusiastic and confident in developing and delivering training through various methods on behalf of the Child Protection Committee and Bairns' Hoose Oversight Group.
The post holder will be part of an experienced and supportive Performance Team dedicated to delivering improved outcomes for children, young people, and their families.
This is a fixed-term position until 31 March 2026.

Requirements
This position involves regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If you have spent three or more months outside the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. The successful applicant must provide this check. Employment will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of these pre-employment checks.
A minimum of one reference is required, which must be from your current or most recent employer.
