* £13.17 per hour (rising to £13.28 per hour after 12 weeks)
CTRG are recruiting for a number of experienced 3.5 Tonne Van Drivers to join our well-established client in Newark, Nottinghamshire.
The Role:
The 3.5 Tonne Van Drivers will be required to work 5 on 3 off, with 6:30am starts. There is an average of 5 - 20 drops per shift all of which are to customer homes which are all located within a 75 mile radius of the depot in Newark. Handball is required in this role.
This is a full time ongoing position and training will be provided on the job. There is an opportunity for a permanent contract following 12 weeks service.
Requirements for this Role:
* Candidates are required to hold a full UK Category B (manual) driving licence
* Only candidates with 3 points or less will be considered - DR10's, CD10's or IN10's are not permitted
* A valid digital tachograph card would be desirable but not essential as will be provided if successful
Duties:
* To safely drive a 3.5 tonne van to safely deliver and install white goods, televisions and cookers to customer properties in various locations
* Engage with customers, keeping them informed and ensuring their delivery and our installation is carried out to the highest standard, following best practice guidelines
* To maintain regular contact with your site throughout the day to meet any changes to a customer delivery request, discussing and escalating unplanned issues, seeking guidance and adapting as necessary
* To ensure the handheld operating device (Savvy) is always used correctly by completing visits and obtaining customer signatures
* To handle all products safely and with care, supporting your colleagues to do the same
* Manage changing volumes of load held in the vehicle during the day. Regularly review, adjust, and secure the load to ensure safety whilst using equipment provided (i.e., straps and sack barrows)
* Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving
* Maintain a clean and organized vehicle
Experience:
* Previous experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving is preferred
* Familiarity with driving a 3.5 tonne vehicle
* Ability to navigate using GPS or maps
* Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Pay
£13.17 per hour paid weekly increasing following the temp to perm period if taken on by the Client.
