Chief Scientific Officer - Climate Tech/Carbon Capture - Nottingham, UK - Permanent
Our client is a pioneering climate-tech company developing breakthrough technology to permanently mineralise CO₂ into high-performance concrete additives. They are an innovative and ambitious startup organisation specialised in developing new calcium-based materials from carbon capture processes. Their mission is to utilise CO₂ and waste to create, stronger, cheaper and cleaner building materials.
To continue the growth of the organisation they are seeking a Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) to lead the transition of their technology from TRL 5 to TRL 8 and deliver performance at industrial scale. The CSO will be responsible to scale chemistry into industrial processes, support scale-up across pilot plant and demonstration plant, ensure performance with real industrial inputs, deliver under tight timelines and budgets and lead a team to achieve clear, measurable outcomes.
The main targets of this role will be to drive TRL progression (5 to 8), translate lab work into industrial performance, remove scale-up bottlenecks and deliver results through the team.
The desired outcomes of this role will be to achieve TRL progression, demonstrate a reliable pilot and demo performance, identify and resolve key scale-up risks and to drive a team that consistently delivers against milestones.
