Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced manager to oversee the day-to-day management ofCruse Scotland West Area, this includes our teams in Ayrshire & Arran; Dumfries; Dunbartonshire; Glasgow& Greater Glasgow; Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire.
Candidates are required to have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to provide managerial support,which is often provided from a distance.
Excellent communication skills are essential as the postholder is required to respond effectively to a wide range ofenquiries which includes bereaved people. You will be required to establish effective working relationships witha range of Cruse Scotland volunteers and staff, as well as statutory funders and grant making trusts. Experienceof volunteer management would be advantageous.
Due to the wide geographical spread of the role, the postholder will be required to travel occasionally to each ofthe service bases within our West Area; and to other locations within Scotland for meetings and training.
Whilst the role can be hybrid, we have recently secured a new office base in Glasgow so there will be a regularrequirement to have a routine presence in the office.

We are looking for a manager to lead our established Community Support and Development team in Aberdeen andInverness. The post will oversee a team of four staff members (1.6 FTE).
Our targeted homelessness prevention projects are tailored to local needs and work in partnership with churches. Weengage with individuals in communities to revitalise areas where the potential for homelessness is a realconcern.
The role will involve overseeing a variety of work including the work of an existing Community Development Worker whooversees a drop-in on King Street in Aberdeen, Recovery & Resettlement Workers in Aberdeen and Inverness anda Women and Families Worker based in Torry.
Candidates will require significant experience and passion for working with people from a range of backgroundsincluding vulnerable individuals and a personal drive to see positive change in lives of people on the marginsof society.
The role is open to opportunities for flexible working in conversation with the Director of HomelessnessPrevention.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to use their experience and skills to encourageand facilitate God’s mission across this area, with a focus on youth and young adults.
A theological background will be important; in particular, we intend to work within the Five Marks of Mission and aclear vision of these and of relational approaches to youth and intergenerational work will be required.Flexibility, creativity, and a willingness to share and experiment will all be vital. It is expected that thepostholder will travel extensively throughout the Presbytery.
The successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of youth ministry in an intergenerational context withthe ability to translate this into good practice. They will also have an ability to work with Christians andchurches from across the theological spectrum as well as with people who have little or no churchconnection.
The successful candidate will be a committed Christian with an active Church connection (Genuine OccupationalRequirement in terms of the Equality Act 2010).
