We are seeking a dedicated Biology Teacher to join our team on a maternity cover basis from January to August 2026. This role involves full teaching responsibilities at a dynamic educational institution in Surrey. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about fostering a love of biology among students and capable of delivering high-quality education.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
* Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
* Facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with pupils and by organising learning resources and the classroom environment.
* Assess and record students' progress and provide grades and feedback.
* Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
* Participate in departmental meetings, parent meetings, and whole school training events.
* Stay updated on new teaching methods and developments in the curriculum.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
* Right to work in the UK.
* Proven experience as a Biology Teacher.
* Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures.
* Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills.
* Well-organized and committed.
* Creative and energetic.
* Strong moral values and discipline.
