Health & Safety Officer

STS Aviation Services is growing rapidly, and we’re looking for a Health & Safety Officer to join our Manchester team. This is a full-time, permanent position that plays a vital role in maintaining our reputation as the leading UK MRO. The Health & Safety Officer will work alongside the Head of Safety Management to support the continuous development of the HSE function across all UK locations.
Applicants must either be citizens of the United Kingdom or hold valid UK work authorisation with at least two years remaining before expiration.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Support and advise STS Aviation Services UK Ltd. on Health and Safety across all UK locations.
* Monitor standards, processes, communications, training, and systems to ensure compliance with all Health and Safety responsibilities.
* Ensure a safe working environment for all employees and visitors.
* Partner with HSE Managers to ensure the company meets all statutory obligations related to health, safety, and welfare at work, including reporting and training.
* Assist managers with completing and reviewing risk assessments for work equipment and operations.
* Support the documentation, investigation, and improvement process following any accidents or incidents.
* Ensure regular safety inspections, fire drills, and risk assessments are completed and documented.
* Assist in delivering health and safety policies, systems, and procedures.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date Health & Safety and training records.
* Stay informed on all relevant health, safety, and welfare legislation and communicate updates to the wider business.
* Participate in monthly Health & Safety meetings and provide updates on key initiatives.
Skills & Experience:
* NEBOSH certification required.
* High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
* Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
* Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
* Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
* Experience gathering, analysing, and reporting on Health & Safety metrics.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
