RAF Honington, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk Job Summary RAF Honington, Mechanical Transport (MT) Flight Skill Zone 3 (SZ3) Driver providing support to the Station transporting MOD Personnel and Equipment to a diverse variety of military and civilian destinations throughout the UK. This vacancy is advertised at 37 hours per week but is subject to a shift working pattern which includes earlies, lates and weekends on a rota basis. The Job is for a 2 year contract. This is a Fixed-term Appointment as a Mechanical Transport Driver. Your responsibilities will be as described in this job advert. The reason why you are appointed for a fixed period is due to contract changes within the business area. This post will therefore begin on your appointment and end 23 months. You should be aware that when your Fixed-term Appointment at MOD comes to an end, arrangements will be made in line with the FTA policy. Ensuring all mandatory documentation has been completed and any vehicle defects or concerns are highlighted to the MT Control office. Ensuring any load you may be required to transport is fully secure and follows all UK and MOD transport regulations. You should be aware due to the diverse nature of this role, such as flight delays, breakdowns, road works, etc. you may be required to exceed your daily contracted working hours at very short notice. There may be occasions when you are required to work remotely from your regular workplace for unspecified periods, however, these will be communicated and agreed with you prior to the task.
