Service Manager (Engineering)

This role is based in Ayrshire with regular travel to the North East of England & the Midlands.
An established engineering services business is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead and optimise service operations across multiple UK regions. This is a senior, hands-on role with real influence over service delivery, commercial performance, and team development.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of operational performance across geographically dispersed teams, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably, while continuously improving customer satisfaction and service capability.
The Role
As Service Manager, you will be responsible for:
1. Leading day-to-day service operations across Scotland, the Midlands, the North East of England, and wider regions
2. Planning and scheduling engineering resources to maximise utilisation and minimise downtime
3. Managing service costs, margins, and job profitability
4. Acting as a senior escalation point for key customers
5. Developing, coaching, and supporting remote engineering and support teams
