Overview

Have you got a passion for clear, engaging communication and enjoy helping people make sense of change? You'll join our friendly and collaborative Core Management Transition Team, supporting three major transformation programmes—Synergy, Matrix and CITB—that shape SSCL's Government business. This role focuses on turning complex information into accessible, meaningful messages in a fast-moving environment. You will support the Communication Lead, build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, and contribute to large-scale business change activity. If you're proactive and curious and want to deepen your experience in change communications, this could be a fantastic next step. This role is hybrid—one day per week on site at one of our Centres of Excellence in Newport, Newcastle, York or Blackpool, with flexibility to attend meetings or training at other locations as needed.


What you'll be doing

* Creating and supporting multi-channel internal communications to help colleagues understand and stay informed about all three transition programmes.
* Preparing and supporting engagement champion activities, including slide packs, feedback analysis and sharing insights with stakeholders.
* Drafting responses to colleague and champion questions and updating the SSCL intranet with transition content.
* Supporting external communications such as client updates, supplier messaging and joint communications with clients.
* Managing the monthly CMTT newsletter and monitoring transition mailboxes by logging and responding to queries.
* Supporting programme governance and reporting across all three programmes.


What you'll bring

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting, slide writing and digital content creation.
* Ability to interpret complex information and translate it into clear, accessible communications.
* Confidence engaging with internal stakeholders to understand business direction and priorities.
* Ability to build relationships quickly with external stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong organisational and project management skills.
* Experience delivering end-to-end communications and stakeholder engagement.


It would be great if you had

* Experience using Poppulo or similar internal communication tools.
* Knowledge of SharePoint and Canva.
* Experience creating or editing video and digital content.

Employment details

Employment Type: Full-time, Fixed Term Contract. Location: Hybrid – One day per week onsite at Newport, Newcastle, York or Blackpool. Security Clearance Level: BPSS. Salary: up to £36,000 per annum. Benefits: 25 days annual leave with the option to buy additional days, health cash plan, life assurance, and pension.
