We are recruiting a Mental Health Support Worker to join a supportive school based in Choppington, Northumberland. In this role, you will work closely with pupils who require emotional, behavioural, and mental health support, helping them engage positively with school life.
The role is Monday-Friday, 8:40am-3:40pm.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group mental health support to pupils
* Assist students in managing anxiety, behavioural challenges, and emotional regulation
* Support the wider pastoral and SEND teams
* Develop trusting relationships with students to promote wellbeing
* Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with school staff
* Contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive school environment
About You
* Experience working with children or young people in a support or care setting
* Understanding of mental health needs, trauma-informed practice, or SEMH support
* Calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and external agencies
* Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential (training provided)
