Our client CSG is a leading waste management and resource recovery business, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across the UK. With a strong reputation for operational excellence, compliance, and customer service, CSG works with organisations across multiple sectors to provide safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible waste collection and recycling services. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Transport Planner to join their busy and fast-paced operation.
This is a varied and hands-on role responsible for planning efficient and cost-effective vehicle scheduling and routing to maximise utilisation across allocated regions. You will coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly transport operations, ensuring the smooth allocation of driver and vehicle resources while maintaining high service standards for both internal and external customers. Working closely with regional administration teams and fleet engineers, you will oversee compliance across driver hours, vehicle servicing, tachographs, CPC requirements, and transport documentation. The role will also involve monitoring fleet performance, managing operational costs, supporting customer quotations, maintaining accurate transport records, and ensuring all transport activity complies with health & safety and ADR legislation.
To be shortlisted, you will need to have previous experience within a transport planning or logistics coordination role, preferably within a regulated or fast-moving operational environment. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing operational demands. You will have a solid understanding of driver compliance, vehicle utilisation, and transport administration, with knowledge of tachograph regulations, CPC requirements, and health & safety procedures. A proactive and customer-focused approach is key, as is the ability to build effective working relationships across depots and operational teams. Experience within waste management, hazardous goods, or ADR environments would be highly advantageous.
