Quantity Surveyor – Project Management
We are working with an established specialist construction commercial consultancy and project management business near Winchester looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join the team.
The firm has had a steady and managed period of growth over the last 10 years and has a full order book for 2026-2028. They work on a range of schemes in the healthcare, education, local authority and care marketplaces and are flexible enough to take on the majority of the needs for a client from advice and consultancy to full‑scale project management.
They operate an hour from Winchester covering Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire and Surrey.
The role is different from a traditional contracting‑based commercial role. The old‑school first principles and best‑practice training you have received and then implemented in your daytime role will form the basis of your new role here, as they operate on construction‑based principles and want people from the construction industry who know how to build and bid, estimate and then deliver a scheme.
Key Responsibilities
* Work with clients at early stages to establish programmes, bills, scope of works, etc.
* Select contractors to go through PQQ and issue tender documents.
* Review submissions and recommend best options before appointing a contractor.
* Manage programmes, valuations, variations, etc., representing the client and looking after their best interests.
* Exercise autonomy to make real‑time decisions, supported by head‑office functions.
Report into the Managing Director who came from a Tier 1 contracting background.
Eligibility and Equality
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK. Randstad CPE values and promotes equality and is happy to discuss reasonable adjustments and additional arrangements as required.
