Help Shape Governance That Supports Global Impact

At RICS, we're proud to be a global voice in land, real estate, construction, and infrastructure. With over 140,000 members across nearly 150 countries, our work influences everything from city skylines to green spaces. Whether it's supporting sustainable development, conserving heritage buildings, or advising on major infrastructure projects, our professionals help communities thrive.

About the role

Governance is central to how we deliver this impact. With a complex, multi layered structure and a predominantly elected Governing Council, we rely on a strong governance team to uphold transparency, accountability, and trust across our organisation.

We're looking for a qualified and experienced Assistant Company Secretary to join our Governance team. This is a high impact role supporting the Head of Governance and Group Company Secretary in delivering an efficient, innovative, and compliant governance service across our institutional and legal structures.

What You'll Be Doing

* Supporting the day-to-day operations of our governance function, ensuring key deadlines are met across both institutional governance and entity management.
* Providing full meeting support to committees including the Audit, Risk Assurance and Finance Committee and the Knowledge and Practice Committee.
* Leading and assisting with complex non-executive recruitment processes, ensuring fairness and transparency.
* Drafting high quality reports, guidance, formal minutes, and board resolutions.
* Managing entity compliance across our global structure and advising international offices on governance and regulatory matters.
* Developing systems, templates, and procedures that enhance efficiency and enable proactive governance.

About You

You are a qualified Chartered Governance Professional, with membership of the Chartered Governance Institute (CGI UKI) or equivalent. You bring broad experience in governance and entity compliance ideally within a not for profit, public interest, or regulated environment.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

* Have experience supporting governance committees, particularly in audit and risk.
* Understand the sensitivities of working within a complex governance structure.
* Can manage multiple priorities and deadlines with confidence and independence.
* Communicate clearly and effectively, building trust and influencing senior stakeholders.
* Navigate complex, often political environments with sound judgement and interpersonal awareness.
* Take a proactive, solutions-focused approach and are comfortable working in ambiguity.
* Have familiarity with UK entity compliance (training can be provided for the international requirements if needed).

Rewards and Benefits

We offer a comprehensive package of benefits to support your work life balance, health, financial security, and personal time.

For full time staff, the standard working week is 35 hours, and we support flexible working arrangements where possible.

Your health and wellbeing are important to us, with benefits including private medical insurance, an Employee Assistance Programme, Mental Health First Aiders, Wellbeing Champions, and optical care. To support your financial future, we provide income protection, life assurance, an Aviva Group Personal Pension scheme, and access to My Money support.

We also offer:

* 25 days' annual leave plus public holidays
* Three additional days of leave when the office closes between Christmas and New Year
* Enhanced flexible leave policies (including Maternity, Paternity, and Moving House)
* Wellbeing Day
* A Volunteering Day to support community engagement
* Staff led community groups
