We’re looking for a proactive and skilled PPM Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team on a 12-month FTC. In this key role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of all production equipment, supporting our drive for operational excellence and continuous improvement. You’ll respond swiftly to breakdowns, carry out planned maintenance, and implement engineering improvements to keep production running smoothly and efficiently. Working closely with production teams, you’ll help deliver high performance and ensure all engineering activities meet our safety, quality, and compliance standards. What You’ll Do Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults to minimise production downtime. Carry out and optimise Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities. Investigate root causes of failures and implement long-term corrective actions. Ensure all works are recorded accurately using the CMMS system. Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment. Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and sustainability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions that support production needs. Uphold all health & safety and compliance requirements, including PUWER and LOLER. About You You’re a hands-on, technically strong engineer who enjoys problem-solving and continuous improvement. You’ll bring: A time-served apprenticeship or qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering. Proven experience in a manufacturing or food production environment. Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Experience with PPM, reliability-centred maintenance, and CI techniques. Sound knowledge of health & safety and compliance standards. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Good IT and record-keeping skills (CMMS experience desirable).
