We're looking for a 2nd Line IT Engineer to join a leading manufacturing company in Stoke-on-Trent, supporting both office and production environments. This role is hands-on, varied, and gives you the chance to work across infrastructure, applications, and networks - no two days are the same. What you'll be doing Escalation point for 1st Line issues, ensuring problems are resolved quickly and effectively. Supporting Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, and end-user devices. Troubleshooting networking technologies (LAN/WAN, firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs). Maintaining and optimising critical systems that keep manufacturing operations running smoothly. Assisting with IT projects - including cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and system rollouts. Producing clear documentation for systems, assets, and incidents. What we're looking for Proven experience in 2nd Line IT Support (manufacturing or fast-paced environments a bonus). Solid knowledge of Microsoft technologies (Windows 10/11, Server, O365, AD). Networking know-how - TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls. Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach. Excellent communication skills - able to support colleagues at all levels.
